Creativity For Wellbeing
This programme area is primarily concerned with using Community Arts activities as a way of helping to improve the physical / mental / emotional health of people. It is also concerned with raising awareness of and advocating for people with physical, mental or emotional health issues.
This has become Valley and Vale’s biggest area of activity and is targeted to grow steadily over the next few years. Customers include: Health Authorities, Hospitals, G.P.s, Local Authority depts, Schools and a range of Third Sector and Community-based organisations including Interlink, BAVO, LCC, V2C, Wales & West, Cartrefi Cymru, Disability Arts Cymru, Mind Cymru, Mental Health Matters, CAMHS teams, Yellow Wales, Women’s Aid, Barnardo’s Cymru, Bridgend People First, Bridgend Carers Association, and Age Cymru. The long-term impacts for target beneficiaries of this programme of work are mostly concerned with improving emotional and physical well-being, but we will also be seeking to build confidence, self-awareness, self-esteem, resilience, coping strategies, good personal and family relationships and to establish healthier communities.
